POWER SAFETY SOLUTIONS
Power Safety Solutions was born from 25 years of experience within the Electrical Transmission and Distribution Industry.
Much experience was gained within construction, operation and maintenance of High Voltage networks from 132kV – 400kV and interfacing with 3rd party control engineers and administering High Voltage Safety from the System on a daily basis.
The renewable industry was a logical step, where a portfolio of installation, operation and maintenance from 33 kV to 400 kV renewable networks has been accumulated. Previous experience was utilised in identifying issues on electrical installations that would have been extremely costly during commissioning.
Over the last 5 years’ work on off shore wind farms has enabled Power Safety Solutions to work on the largest wind farm projects with the largest offshore wind farm developers in the UK.
Key to the work Power Safety Solutions carry out is the development with interfacing companies like National Grid when the projects install infrastructure on 3rd party sites where industry and company specific processes have to be complied with and at the same time aligning with developers’ time constraints.
From the beginning of the Offshore Transmission Owner (OFTO’s) Regime, we have worked alongside OFTO companies to ensure swift divestment of assets and maintenance services have been carried out affectively where required.
Another critical work area has been the management and delivery of Safe Systems of Work when working on the High Voltage networks of Renewable Companies. Developing High Voltage safety rules to conform to legislation and the development of a precise authorisation process for personnel applying the rules rigidly has been critical.
Progression to training has been a logical step with tailored courses and industry recognised approved courses being delivered from Basic Electrical Safety Competence (BESC) to High Voltage Safety Rules development and application techniques.
